Driverless Engineer vacancy
electrical engineer
General description HARD
HARD is a multidisciplinary formula student team consisting of motivated students from a variety of different studies from the Hanze UAS and University of Groningen. As a team we try to build a race car which we can compete with at a formula student event. HARD has different teams, where the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and driverless engineering teams fall under the engineering department and the marketing, event and acquisition teams fall under the communication department. All volunteers spend one or more years with the team in order to apply the theoretical knowledge they gathered in a practical environment.
Description of function
As an electrical engineer in the driverless division, you will be working on the software that will make the car self-driving, together applying some small hardware systems to the car (like the camera, and any other sensors needed). You will be working together closely with both the electrical engineers that work on the car to make sure all the electric systems are also capable of handling a self driving car. Think about making sure the PC is located at the right position in car all, all the hardware is connected to the main PC and creating PCB’s for specific lights needed to make the car rules-compliant.
